Streatley Final Day

Well here we are at the end of a fun-filled week; home tired but with much news to share. Today we left the Youth Hostel and made our way to Bucklebury Farm.
On arrival we had the chance to play on the slides followed by a tour around the farm. Here we had the opportunity to feed the donkeys, goats and pigs and hold guinea pigs, rabbits and chickens – almost everyone had a go.
Next we had a race on the assault course – Groups A and B were the winners with a fantastic run by Lana, who was helped all the way by Ashleigh.
After a quick bite to eat we moved on to Bushcraft. Here we had to build dens and had the chance to toast marshmallows.
This was followed by a tour of the deer park where we saw a number of babies which were hidden in long grass. Apparently the mother hides her young for 2-3 weeks returning only to feed them or to move them until they are strong enough to join the herd – so if you ever come across a hidden baby deer hidden in the undergrowth on a woodland walk leave it alone!
Riding go-carts, the bouncy cushions and a chance to eat a bit more came next before we returned to the minibuses for the journey home – tired but happy!
