Sports Day, Macbeth and last week.

What a great effort by all on Sports Day! The sun shone and the children excelled in their sporting skills. I am pleased to report that the Yellow team won and Hannah Stemp, as team captain, had the responsibility of collecting the trophy – which is now proudly displayed in class.

Macbeth was a huge success and the upper school choir that turned up on Friday evening did a fantastic job, even though not all could make it. They certainly made a brilliant effort to make up for their missing classmates.

In Literacy we have been concentrating on story writing and the children are creating an extended piece of writing based in the Victorian era. I look forward to posting some completed stories on the blog shortly.

In maths we have been carrying out investigations and the children have really enjoyed these. I am encouraging them to think about how maths skills can be used in everyday situations and we started by looking at how number patterns relate to the dancing fountains in Las Vegas and Dubai. We shall be continuing on this theme next week.

Hi all, I just wanted to say how much I enjoyed the production of Macbeth. It was very obviously that all involved had worked really hard, and it’s no small thing to get up on stage in front of so many people and deliver your lines so well! I was really really impressed. I really enjoyed helping “backstage” too, you were all a pleasure to work with – I apologise if I was a bit bossy! lol. Well done all who took part! x

Thank you for your comments Karen and thank you for all the hard work you did on the costumes to help make the play a success! x
