This week finished with our annual sponsored walk and I have posted a few pictures from the event below.. All of the children participated and completed 5km – making circuits of the school grounds. We are raising funds to buy solar panels for the school and are thankful for all those children who have collected sponsorship money. If you didn’t get the opportunity to sponsor someone you can donate to the fund on this link http://www.solarschools.org.uk/liss/

In literacy this week we have been looking at how characters are developed in stories and had great fun on Wednesday when some children dressed as their characters and were put on the hot seat. They faced a range of questions from the rest of the class about their character and how they would respond to different situations. Activities such as these really help the children with their writing.
In Maths we are mastering division. All of the children have tackled chunking and bus stop division. Of course, knowing their tables does help them considerably and they should be practising these regularly. If you are unsure of the methods we use, you can pop along to our parents maths workshop next week.
We have been practicing for our harvest Festival next week – don’t forget you can join us on Wednesday afternoon at the church.
