Congratulations to all of MG for surviving their tests this week and it was fantastic that we had no absences and therefore no catch-up tests to do. Year 5’s have all been marked and Year 6’s sent off for the external marking.
Everyone kept their cool and tried their best which is all we could have asked of them so they thoroughly deserved their afternoon out on the field having their SATS party. The year 6 even got their special delivery of ice cream – much to the envy of year 5. But never mind their time will come next year.
With the emphasis on testing literacy and numeracy has been more or less shelved this week but we have enjoyed geography, art and music.
The class have been working on cyclic patterns in music and used a range of percussion instruments to perform them. We then progressed to layering the patterns and they sounded brilliant. Next week we will record them and (technology permitting!) we will share them on the blog.
The River Rother has been central to our geography this week as we located it’s source and followed it’s course all the way to Midhurst – via maps of course! We identified features of the river and hope to take a closer look at these next half term.
Don’t forget it is our Selborne trip next Wednesday and those children who haven’t returned their slips need to do so asap.
Once again a big WELL DONE to the whole class for this week.
